Titre : Advances in Ironmaking and Steelmaking Processes Type de document : document électronique Auteurs : Pasquale Cavaliere, Auteur Editeur : Basel [Switzerland] : MDPI Année de publication : 2023 Importance : 220 p. Présentation : ill., couv. ill. ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-3-0365-7549-0 Langues : Anglais (eng) Tags : Ironmaking Steelmaking Processes hydrogen decarbonized energy systems nuclear energy Index. décimale : 672 Fer, acier, autres alliages ferreux Résumé : In recent years, ironmaking and steelmaking have witnessed the incorporation of various new processes and technologies that can be operated and organized in different combinations depending on the properties of raw materials and the required quality of the final products. Indications from the steel industry and local and global government institutions suggest that the breakthrough technologies for decarbonization will be based on new fuels and energy vectors. For CO2-lean process routes, three major solutions have been identified: decarbonizing, whereby coal would be replaced by hydrogen or electricity in the hydrogen reduction or electrolysis of iron ore processes; the introduction of CCS technology; and the use of sustainable biomass. Today, hydrogen-based steelmaking is a potential low-carbon and economically attractive route, especially in countries where natural gas is cheap. By considering systems for increasing energy efficiency and reducing the environmental impact of steel production, CO2 emissions may be greatly reduced by hydrogen-based steel production if hydrogen is generated by means of carbon-free and renewable sources. Currently, the development of the hydrogen economy has received a great deal of attention in that H2 is considered a promising alternative to replace fossil fuels. Based on hydrogen, the “hydrogen economy” is a promising clean energy carrier for decarbonized energy systems if the hydrogen used is produced from renewable energy sources or coupled with carbon capture and storage (CCS) or nuclear energy. Présentation : ill. ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-981-19925-9-9 Langues : Anglais (eng) Tags : Ventilation Building Physics HVAC Fluid Dynamics Computer Applications Simulation Modeling Index. décimale : 697 Technique du chauffage, de la ventilation, de la climatisation Résumé : This open access book systematically summarizes the current research progress of attachment ventilation, covering vertical wall attachment, column attachment, and adaptive attachment ventilation. Attachment ventilation is a high-performance ventilation mode that was first proposed by the author, Prof. Angui Li 20 years ago. Now it has been widely used in office spaces, subway stations, high-speed railway stations, international airport terminals, and other large spaces. This book introduces attachment ventilation in detail to eliminate the cooling/heating load of the occupied zone and provide an expected environment for the air-conditioned zone. Attachment ventilation combines the advantages of traditional mixed ventilation and displacement ventilation. This book consists of six chapters, covering a series of airflow patterns, mechanisms, parameter correlations, and attachment ventilation design methods. It is helpful for HVAC engineers to design attachment ventilation effectively.
