Titre : Collider Physics within the Standard Model : A Primer Type de document : document électronique Auteurs : Guido Altarelli, Auteur ; James Wells, Auteur Editeur : Berlin [Germany] : Springer Nature Limited Année de publication : 2017 Importance : 173 p. Présentation : ill. ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-3-319-51920-3 Langues : Anglais (eng) Tags : Collider Physics QCD lecture notes LHC physics Electroweak theory Higgs sector Elementary Particles Quantum Field Theory String Theory Index. décimale : 539.72 Physique des particules; rayonnements ionisants Résumé : This open access book presents the principles of the standard model of particle physics receive a particular skillful, personal and enduring exposition by one of the great contributors to the field. In 2013 the late Prof. Altarelli wrote: The discovery of the Higgs boson and the non-observation of new particles or exotic phenomena have made a big step towards completing the experimental confirmation of the standard model of fundamental particle interactions. It is thus a good moment for me to collect, update and improve my graduate lecture notes on quantum chromodynamics and the theory of electroweak interactions, with main focus on collider physics. I hope that these lectures can provide an introduction to the subject for the interested reader, assumed to be already familiar with quantum field theory and some basic facts in elementary particle physics as taught in undergraduate courses En ligne : https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-319-51920-3 Collider Physics within the Standard Model : A Primer [document électronique] / Guido Altarelli, Auteur ; James Wells, Auteur . - Berlin (Germany) : Springer Nature Limited, 2017 . - 173 p. : ill.

Titre : Electroweak Theory Type de document : document électronique Auteurs : E. A. Paschos, Auteur Editeur : Cambridge [United Kingdom] : Cambridge University Press Année de publication : 2023 Importance : 262 p. Présentation : ill. ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-1-00-940237-8 Langues : Anglais (eng) Tags : Higgs mechanism Spontaneous symmetry breaking Gauge bosons Standard Model Weak isospin Index. décimale : 539.72 Physique des particules; rayonnements ionisants Résumé : The electroweak theory unifies two basic forces of nature: the weak force and electromagnetism. This is a concise introduction to the structure of the electroweak theory and its applications. It describes the structure and properties of field theories with global and local symmetries, leading to the standard model. It describes the particles and processes predicted by the theory, and compares them with experimental results. It also covers neutral currents, the properties of W and Z bosons, the properties of quarks and mesons containing heavy quarks, neutrino oscillations, CP-asymmetries in K, D, and B meson decays, and the search for Higgs particles. Each chapter contains problems to supplement the text, stemming from the author's long teaching experience. This will be of great interest to graduate students and researchers in elementary particle physics. Originally published in 2007, this title has been reissued as an Open Access publication on Cambridge Core.
