Titre : Advancing Energy Policy : Lessons on the integration of Social Sciences and Humanities Type de document : document électronique Auteurs : Chris Foulds, Auteur ; Rosie Robison, Auteur Editeur : Berlin [Allemagne] : Springer Nature Année de publication : 2018 Importance : 193 p. Présentation : ill., couv. ill. ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-3-319-99097-2 Langues : Anglais (eng) Tags : Energy Policy Economics and Management Environment Studies Environmental Geography Environmental Management Index. décimale : 333.79 Énergie Résumé : This open access book advocates for the Social Sciences and Humanities to be more involved in energy policymaking. It forms part of the European platform for energy-related Social Sciences and Humanities’ activities, and works on the premise that crossing disciplines is essential. All of its contributions are highly interdisciplinary, with each chapter grounded in at least three different Social Sciences and Humanities disciplines. These varying perspectives come together to cover an array of issues relevant to the energy transition, including: energy poverty, justice, political ecology, governance, behaviours, imaginaries, systems approaches, modelling, as well as the particular challenges faced by interdisciplinary work. As a whole, the book presents new ideas for future energy policy, particularly at the European level. It is a valuable resource for energy researchers interested in interdisciplinary and society-relevant perspectives. Those working outside the Social Sciences and Humanities will find this book an accessible way of learning more about how these subjects can constructively contribute to energy policy.

Titre : Transitioning to Affordable and Clean Energy Type de document : document électronique Auteurs : Edwin C Constable, Auteur Editeur : Basel [Switzerland] : MDPI Année de publication : 2022 Importance : 334 P. ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-3-03897-777-3 Langues : Anglais (eng) Tags : energy energy transitions sustainability energy poverty Index. décimale : 333.79 Énergie Résumé : Transitioning to Affordable and Clean Energy is a collective volume which combines original contributions and review papers that address the question of how the transition to clean and affordable energy can be governed. It covers both general analyses of the governance of transition, including policy instruments, comparative studies of countries or policies, and papers setting out scientifically sound visions of a clean and just energy system. In particular, the following aspects are foregrounded:
Governing the supply- and demand-side transformation;
Geographical and cultural differences and their consequences for the governance of energy transitions;
Sustainability and justice related to energy transitions (e.g., approaches for addressing energy poverty).
Transitioning to Affordable and Clean Energy is part of MDPI's Open Access book series, Transitioning to Sustainability, which aims to add to the conversation about regional and global sustainable development according to the 17 SDGs.En ligne : https://doi.org/10.3390/books978-3-03897-777-3 Transitioning to Affordable and Clean Energy [document électronique] / Edwin C Constable, Auteur . - Basel (Switzerland) : MDPI, 2022 . - 334 P.

Présentation : ill. ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-981-9791-20-0 Langues : Anglais (eng) Tags : Decarbonization Rural Energy System China-Carbon Neutrality China-Building Energy Use China-Building Carbon Emission Clean Heating Distributed PVs Energy Efficiency Index. décimale : 333.79 Énergie Résumé : This open access book focuses on China’s building energy consumption and CO2 emissions, to discuss the status quo of China’s building energy in four categories, their characteristics and technologies to improve energy efficiency and achieve zero-carbon emission. Carbon peaking and carbon neutrality targets have been one of the main motivations and goals for China’s social and economic development. Building is one of the most important sectors to achieve energy saving and emission reduction. In particular, this book discusses the pathways to achieve the carbon neutrality target for China’s rural buildings and rural energy system. This book analyzes the energy system transformation, technology perspectives to implement energy and carbon target in rural building sector. This book consists of large scale of survey data, monitoring data, and case studies. The discussion on technologies and policies is supported by a variety of evidences and continuous research for more than ten years. The information, data, and policy suggestions will be of interest to national and international audiences working in the fields of energy, climate change, engineering, and building science areas. Titre : Electricity Access, Decarbonization, and Integration of Renewables : Insights and Lessons from the Energy Transformation in Bangladesh, South Asia, and Sub-Sahara Africa Type de document : document électronique Auteurs : Sebastian Groh, Auteur ; Lukas Barner, Auteur ; Georg Heinemann, Auteur Editeur : Berlin [Germany] : Springer Nature Limited Année de publication : 2023 Importance : 280 p. Présentation : ill. ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-3-658-38215-5 Langues : Anglais (eng) Tags : Energy Access Decarbonization Integration of Renewables Sub-Sahara Africa Bangladesh Decentralization Electricity Access Energy Transformation South Asia Index. décimale : 333.79 Énergie Résumé : This Open-Access-Book covers different aspects of the low-carbon energy transformation in a unique manner, with a particular focus on two regions, South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. The first part of the book provides useful insights on changes and reforms in the energy sector of Bangladesh, while the second part illustrates the low-carbon energy transformation in South Asia and the third part covers lessons from Sub-Saharan Africa. In all of these regions, the energy sector is undergoing major changes, driven by the four D’s: Decarbonization, decentralization, digitization, and democratization. Major overhauls are taking place at all levels: The country level, where energy mixes are rapidly changing, the corporate level, where large state-owned and private companies are challenged and new actors are emerging, and the local level, where technical and regulatory change has made citizen engagement and community power an option to replace or at least complement centralized supply structures.
