Digital technology has transformed society to serve people from manufacturing needs to smart cities, from network connectivity to people connectivity. The application of information technology has helped in improving live quality and environmental sustainability. Digital transformation is revolutionizing how businesses and workers interconnect to be more productive and efficient. The result is improved collaboration, faster processes and time-to-market, lower costs and better products. Devices are getting smarter, meaning they are able to perform more and more tasks without human intervention; moreover, these devices generate data that provide insights to further improve processes and gain greater efficiencies. Moreover, with the Internet of Things (IoT), all these smart devices are interconnected in ways that not only help make them even smarter, but also enhances the intelligence of the overall system. Digital technology is a formidable driver for the transformation of a highly carbon-dependent world into one that is more ecologically ‘smart.’ We are entering a new era of environmental innovation that is driving better alignment between technology and environmental goals. Since its first announcement in 2011, industrial revolution 4.0 has dynamically changed and transformed to adjust itself to the human needs and to serve more efficiency and effectiveness of everyday life as well as environmental enhancement. The 7th Bandung Creative Movement has brought forward discussions on dynamic changes, ups and downs, innovations, relations of industrial revolution of the internet of thing, data, automation, to human physical world, new art and aesthetic, business, product innovation, built environment, and education. Titre : Energy Transition in the Baltic Sea Region : Understanding Stakeholder Engagement and Community Acceptance Type de document : document électronique Auteurs : Farid Karimi, Editeur scientifique ; Michael Rodi, Editeur scientifique Editeur : London [United Kingdom] : Routledge Année de publication : 2022 Importance : 304 p. Présentation : ill. ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-1-03-200309-2 Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Open Access Publications Tags : Energy transition Baltic Sea region Stakeholder engagement Community acceptance Renewable energy Public participation Social license Regional development Environmental policy Energy policy Index. décimale : 333 Economie de la terre et de l'énergie Résumé : This book analyses the potential for active stakeholder engagement in the energy transition in the Baltic Sea Region (BSR) in order to foster clean energy deployment. Public acceptability and bottom-up activities can be critical for enduring outcomes to an energy transition. As a result, it is vital to understand how to unlock the potential for public, community and prosumer participation to facilitate renewable energy deployment and a clean energy transition – and, consequently, to examine the factors influencing social acceptability. Focussing on the diverse BSR, this book draws on expert contributions to consider a range of different topics, including the challenges of social acceptance and its policy implications; strategies to address challenges of acceptability among stakeholders; and community engagement in clean energy production. Overall, the authors examine the practical implications of current policy measures and provide recommendations on how lessons learnt from this ‘energy lab region’ may be applied to other regions. Titre : Hydrogen Law in the European Union and Europe Type de document : document électronique Auteurs : Michael Kalis, Editeur scientifique ; Sirja-Leena Penttinen, Editeur scientifique ; Kim Talus, Editeur scientifique Editeur : London [United Kingdom] : Routledge Année de publication : 2026 Importance : 458 p. Présentation : ill. Format : En ligne ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-1-00-366965-4 Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Open Access Publications Tags : Hydrogen European Union law Renewable energy directive Decarbonization policy European Green Deal Hydrogen law Index. décimale : 665.81 Hydrogène Résumé : Hydrogen is increasingly seen as a key element of Europe’s energy transition, central to both decarbonisation and energy security. This edited volume provides a comprehensive and systematic analysis of what can be called “Hydrogen Law” in the European Union and Europe, examining how law and governance are shaping the emergence of a hydrogen market. The volume brings together leading academic and practitioner perspectives to analyse the evolving regulatory framework for hydrogen across the entire value chain, from production and certification to infrastructure, markets, public funding, and international trade. It situates hydrogen within EU energy and climate law, explores key concepts such as renewable and low-carbon hydrogen, and addresses cross-cutting issues including state aid, network regulation, planning, public participation, and justice. Combining general legal analysis with regional and comparative case studies – such as hydrogen valleys, hubs, and partnerships with third countries – the volume highlights regulatory challenges, emerging solutions, and future pathways towards a coherent European hydrogen law. The book is aimed at scholars, policymakers, regulators, legal practitioners, and advanced students working in energy law, EU law, sustainability, and the energy transition, as well as stakeholders involved in hydrogen markets and infrastructure development. Titre : Routledge Handbook of Energy Transitions Type de document : document électronique Auteurs : Kathleen Araujo, Auteur Editeur : London [United Kingdom] : Routledge Année de publication : 2022 Importance : 522 p. Présentation : ill. ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-1-00-318302-0 Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Open Access Publications Tags : Decarbonization Sustainability Infrastructure Socio-technical Renewable Innovation Democracy Digitalization Climate Index. décimale : 333.79 Énergie Résumé : The Routledge Handbook of Energy Transitions draws upon a unique and multidisciplinary network of experts from around the world to explore the expanding field of energy transitions. This Handbook recognizes that considerable changes are underway or are being developed for the modes in which energy is sourced, delivered, and utilized. Employing a sociotechnical approach that accounts for economics and engineering, as well as more cross-cutting factors, including innovation, policy and planning, and management, the volume considers contemporary ideas and practices that characterize the field. The book explores pressing issues, including choices about infrastructure, the role of food systems and materials, sustainability, and energy democracy. Disruption is a core theme throughout, with the authors examining topics such as digitalization, extreme weather, and COVID-19, along with regional similarities and differences. Overall, the Routledge Handbook of Energy Transitions advances the field of energy transitions by connecting ideas, taking stock of empirical insights, and challenging how we think about the theory and practice of energy systems change.
