Titre : 5G Networks : An Overview of Architecture, Design, Use Cases and Deployment Type de document : document électronique Auteurs : Khan Atahar, Auteur ; Priyo Dhar Satya, Auteur ; Shanmugasundaram Ramakrishnan, Auteur Editeur : Gistrup [Denmark] : River Publishers Année de publication : 2024 Importance : 241 p. Format : 1 ressource en ligne Accompagnement : CD ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-87-7004-210-9 Langues : Anglais (eng) Tags : 5G mobile communication systems Index. décimale : 621.38 Electronique, technologie des communications Résumé : This book provides comprehensive coverage of building an end-to-end view on how to architect, design, and orchestrate a 5G capable network that will integrate with 5G RAN, IP transport, datacenters, Telco Cloud, and 5G packet networks. It contains real-world examples with challenges and success strategies for deploying 5G Transport with closed-loop automation. It also focuses on aspects like scale, performance, latency, security, and manageability while building 5G transport for some of the world's largest 5G networks as well as migration approaches from 4G to 5G transport and core network. 5G is an emerging technology that mobile service providers (MNO/MVNO) across the world are embracing. They are willing to invest in enabling their infrastructure for 5G and explore new business opportunities with their enterprise/mobile customers. As per the Gartner survey, the majority of communication service provider (CSP) revenue will come from 5G. 5G is going to open the door to new applications such as wireless virtual reality, low latency machine-to-machine communication, smart city infrastructure, autonomous vehicles, IoT deployment, artificial intelligence-based applications, industrial automation and so much more. Titre : Advanced Concepts for Renewable Energy Supply of Data Centres Type de document : document électronique Auteurs : Jaume Salom, Auteur ; Thorsten Urbaneck, Auteur Editeur : Gistrup [Denmark] : River Publishers Année de publication : 2017 Importance : 230 p. Présentation : ill., couv. ill. ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-1-00-333699-0 Langues : Anglais (eng) Tags : Energy efficiency Civil engineering Renewable energy sources Building construction Index. décimale : 621.31 Production, transformation, accumulation, transport d'énergie électrique Résumé : The rapid increase of cloud computing, high performance computing (HPC) and the vast growth in Internet and Social Media use have aroused the interest in energy consumption and the carbon footprint of Data Centres. Data Centres primarily contain electronic equipment used for data processing (servers), data storage (storage equipment), and communications (network equipment). Collectively, this equipment processes, stores, and transmits digital information and is known as information technology (IT) equipment. Advanced Concepts for Renewable Energy Supply of Data Centres introduces a number of technical solutions for the supply of power and cooling energy into Data Centres with enhanced utilisation of renewable energy sources in order to achieve low energy Data Centres. Because of the high energy density nature of these unique infrastructures, it is essential to implement energy efficiency measures and reduce consumption before introducing any renewable energy source. A holistic approach is used with the objective of integrating many technical solutions such as management of the IT (Information Technology) load, efficient electrical supply to the IT systems, Low-Ex air-conditioning systems, interaction with district heating and cooling networks, re-use of heat, free cooling (air, seawater, groundwater), optimal use of heat and cold storage, electrical storage and integration in smart grids. This book is therefore a catalogue of advanced technical concepts that could be integrated into Data Centres portfolio in order to increase the overall efficiency and the share of renewable energies in power and cooling supply. Based on dynamic energy models implemented in TRNSYS some concepts are deeply evaluated through yearly simulations. The results of the simulation are illustrated with Sankey charts, where the energy flows per year within the subsystems of each concept for a selected scenario are shown, and graphs showing the results of parametric analysis. A set of environmental metrics (as the non-renewable primary energy) and financial metrics (CAPEX and OPEX) as well of energy efficiency metrics like the well-known PUE, are described and used to evaluate the different technical concepts. Titre : Circuit Design : Anticipate, Analyze, Exploit Variations Type de document : document électronique Auteurs : Stephan Weber, Auteur ; Candido Duarte, Auteur Editeur : Gistrup [Denmark] : River Publishers Année de publication : 2022 Importance : 638 p. Présentation : ill. ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-1-00-333753-9 Langues : Anglais (eng) Tags : Variations Exploitation Circuit Design Analysis Robustness Process-variation Sensitivity Optimization Tolerancing Index. décimale : 621.381 Electronique Résumé : Circuit Design = Science + Art! Designers need a skilled "gut feeling" about circuits and related analytical techniques, plus creativity, to solve all problems and to adhere to the specifications, the written and the unwritten ones. You must anticipate a large number of influences, like temperature effects, supply voltages changes, offset voltages, layout parasitics, and numerous kinds of technology variations to end up with a circuit that works. This is challenging for analog, custom-digital, mixed-signal or RF circuits, and often researching new design methods in relevant journals, conference proceedings and design tools unfortunately gives the impression that just a "wild bunch" of "advanced techniques" exist. On the other hand, state-of-the-art tools nowadays indeed offer a good cockpit to steer the design flow, which include clever statistical methods and optimization techniques.Actually, this almost presents a second breakthrough, like the introduction of circuit simulators 40 years ago! Users can now conveniently analyse all the problems (discover, quantify, verify), and even exploit them, for example for optimization purposes. Most designers are caught up on everyday problems, so we fit that "wild bunch" into a systematic approach for variation-aware design, a designer's field guide and more.
